Contact Form 7 is a popular and flexible WordPress plugin that enables you to create and manage contact forms with ease. It supports various field types, spam protection, and customization options, making it suitable for a wide range of contact and inquiry forms.

Plugin Details

  • Version: 6.0.5
  • Type: Form Builder Plugin
  • Dependencies: None

Purpose

The plugin allows site owners to create customizable contact forms and handle form submissions via email. It’s useful for capturing user inquiries, feedback, service requests, and more—without requiring coding knowledge.

How to Configure

To access and configure Contact Form 7:

  • In the WordPress dashboard, go to Contact from the main menu and select a form.

Key configuration sections include:

  • Forms: This is where you can edit the fields within each form template using tags like text inputs, email fields, etc.
  • Mail: Define email settings for each form—such as recipient address, subject line, and message content.
  • Messages: Customize user-facing messages (e.g., confirmation, error, or validation messages).
  • Additional Settings: Enable advanced options like Akismet spam filtering and tracking code integration.

Usage Instructions

To Create a New Contact Form:

  • Go to Contact > Add New.
  • Give the form a name.
  • Use the form editor to insert and arrange fields (e.g., name, email, message).
  • Configure email details in the Mail tab (e.g., recipient address, message body).
  • Customize user messages in the Messages tab.
  • Click Save to create the form.

To Add a Form to a Page or Post:

  • Open the page or post where the form should appear.
  • Paste the form’s shortcode into the content area using the Classic Editor.
  • Select the desired form from the dropdown.
  • Update the page or post to save changes.

Important Note

If you’re not familiar with form creation or HTML, it’s best to avoid editing the structure or logic of forms. You may safely update the recipient email address in the Mail tab to receive submissions, but leave other configurations untouched unless you’re confident in your changes.
